The Steve Rudolph Trio

 Steve Rudolph Trio - classic jazz piano trios with vast experience and several recordings - performances can feature programs of Steve's compositions and arrangements or special programs including:


Elegant Ellington - a tribute to the Duke of jazz with Ellington Orchestra bassist Hassan Ash-Shakur


Celebrating Evans - a remembrance of one of jazz's greatest artists - pianist Bill Evans - featuring Evans' former drummer and Berklee College of Music professor Joe Hunt w/ bassist Steve Meashey

The Steve Rudolph Trio

One of the most innovative and inspiring vocal musicians on the scene today joins Steve's Trio for an electrifying experience in improvised music. Ryerson & Rudolph

Famed jazz flutist Ali Ryerson and pianist Steve Rudolph perform standards and original works as a duo, trio with Russian bassist Victor Dvoskin, or as guest artists with big band or orchestra.  Their 2004 recording "Soul Quest"  garnered national airplay and reviews.  Ali performs on the soprano (C), Alto & bass flutes.  They also have vast experience as clinicians. Steve Rudolph/Joerg Widmoser Reunion Band

Steve's synergy with German violin master Joerg Widmoser began in the 80's, culminating in their recording "Live in Munich" on the Upsolute Records label.  The band has toured Europe and the U.S. and feature workshops in improv and jazz styles for string players.  For Joerg's complete info click here.

Steve & Amy collaborated on her first jazz release "When the Sun Comes Out" in 2005 - it is currently getting national airplay - hear audio clips and more HERE - available for  concerts, jazz clubs, and workshops.  

 

 

The Rudolph / Valentino Project 

Guitarist & fellow Yamaha artist Vinny Valentino collaborated with Steve on the innovative Rudolph / Valentino sessions (co-produced by George Benson) in 1999 that featured original compositions and arrangements from both artists with a string section from the Pittsburgh Symphony. They are available for 
concerts as a quartet or with arrangements for chamber strings or orchestra. This is music from the romantic side of jazz and is suitable for a Valentine's Day concert...

 

 

Steve Rudolph/Tom Strohman Quartet

woodwind master and educator Strohman (woodwind instructor & head of the jazz department at Lebanon Valley College) and pianist Rudolph recorded a CD, "In Our Prime", on the R&L label in 1999.  The touring ensemble includes Grammy winning drummer Bill Goodwin and bassist Steve Varner.  They are available for concert performances and workshops that feature instruction in composition and improvisation and have vast experience coaching jazz ensembles of all sizes.  Tom & Steve also perform as a duo w/ woodwinds and piano. Extraordinary vocalist and entertainer presents programs of jazz and blues.  Their new recording - NINE - on PACT Records is available and getting airplay nationally.. they also do a "Jazz In the Sanctuary" program for churches

 

Hendrik Meurkens/Steve Rudolph Quartet - Steve unites with German harmonica master Meurkens and Russian bassist Victor Dvoskin for programs from Brazilian to Bop with a new recording coming out soon.

Workshops or clinics:

1.   The Rhythm Section - guidance for school jazz bands with the Rudolph Trio 

2.  Spontaneous Composition - a workshop based on the similar techniques required in improvisation and composition.   Students compose and perform new works and learn to improvise on their original tunes. 

3.  Studies in Vocal Improvisation - Steve w/ vocalist J.D. Walter - includes work with your vocal ensembles and soloists in vocal technique, interpretation and rhythmic skills.   The workshop focuses on an instrumental approach to ensemble singing in a fun and easy atmosphere helping singers to discover their own vocal sound....all levels of students are accepted.

4.   Keyboard Koncepts - lecture demonstration for jazz improv and harmony.

5.    Jazz Past - an historic look at the music and the times that influenced it's creation. Lecture, video and live performance.
