January 22 � Iron Sommelier Competition - $125.00

Join us for the first ever Hilton Iron Sommelier Competition.  Local wine enthusiast and wine writer for the Patriot News and Tr�s Bonne Ann�e Board member, Terry Lehman, will battle it out with  wine industry      professional Steve Puma, Northeast Regional Manager for Ste. Michelle Wine Estates.

 The evening will feature 90+ point wines from the Ste. Michelle Estates and Partnerships. Their vineyards produce some of the best wines in the world. The two competitors will hand pick their wine selections to        compliment a delectable Golden Sheaf menu.  It will be the job of the guests for the evening to vote on their favorite selections for each course and, ultimately, The Hilton�s first Iron Sommelier.

February 26 � The Trapiche High/Low Challenge - $105.00

Do you have the sophisticated palate to taste the difference between ordinary table wine and the fancy wines that sell for twice the price? Do you allow the intrinsic qualities of wine such as taste and smell influence your decision or do the external attributes such as price and presentation normally effect your wine selections?

 Join Bill Seawright, North Eastern Regional Sales Director for Frederick Wildman & Sons, as he takes us on a journey through the most widely recognized Argentinean winery in the world, Trapiche. The Trapiche wines have a new international style, fruit-driven and consumer friendly, and represent the best of what Argentina has to offer.

With each wonderful Golden Sheaf course you will blind taste two or three wines from the Trapiche collection that represent completely different price ranges. You will record your favorite selections and at the end of the evening your true preference for expensive or cheap wines will be revealed.

A Salute to the Master of American Winemaking -- Andr� Tchelistcheff - $135.00

In 1938, Beaulieu Vineyards founder and owner Georges de Latour visited France in search of a new winemaker.  He was introduced to Tchelistcheff at the French National Agronomy Institute where Andr� was working. Although Tchelistcheff had already received offers from winemakers worldwide, he agreed to join Beaulieu Vineyard. He arrived in Napa Valley, California in September 1938, as Beaulieiu�s vice president and chief winemaker.

 Tchelistcheff�s impact at Beaulieu was immediate and profound:  he concentrated his efforts on defining a style for high-quality California Cabernet Sauvignon, and created the �Georges de Latour Private Reserve� label. 

Tchelistcheff provided significant contributions to the techniques of cold fermentation, vineyard frost prevention, malolactic fermentation, and the development of winemaking regions in Carneros, California, Oregon and Washington. He also consulted to Joseph Heitz, Mike Grgich, Joel Aiden, Jordan, Neimaum/Coppola, Buena Vista Winery, Erath Winery, Chateau Ste. Michelle, Columbia Crest Winery, Robert Mondavi Winery, Louis Martini Winery, Franciscan Vineyard, Ornellaia, Simi, and Stag�s Leap Wine Cellars.    

 Tim Clark, Wine Educator for Ste. Michelle Wine Estates has had the opportunity to work at many of the wineries for which Andr� consulted.  To honor Andr�, Tim will be the host of this dinner which will feature wine selections from many of the wineries for which Mr. Tchelistcheff had influenced.  Tim�s knowledge and wit will be in evidence throughout this stunning wine event.
